Inter Milan have now learned the identity of their opponents in the Champions League group stage. Thursday’s draw pitted the Nerazzurri in the same group with Benfica, Red Bull Salzburg and Real Sociedad

The Beneamata were in Pot 2 which featured some of the highest-ranked clubs who haven’t made it to Pot 1 (reserved for the champions of highest-ranked leagues).

The Italian giants landed in Group D alongside Portuguese champions Benfica. This will be a rematch from last season’s quarter-finals.

Inter won the double tie 5-3 on aggregate and went all the way to the final before falling just short against Man City in Istanbul.

Simone Inzaghi’s men will be looking to replicate their success over the Eagles for the second time in a year.
