Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti is aiming for an even better campaign than the previous while heaping praise on Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Nerazzurri lifted the Coppa Italia trophy and the Italian Super Cup last season for the second year in a row.
Simone Inzaghi’s men also reached the final of the Champions League but came just short against Manchester City in Istanbul. The Cityzens took the prestigious trophy home thanks to Rodri’s winner.
On the other hand, the Beneamata didn’t enjoy their finest league campaign, finishing third, 18 points adrift from Scudetto winners Napoli.
Therefore, Zanetti sees room for improvement. He hopes that the club delivers an even more prosperous campaign than last season.
“We have a balanced group. We want to start the new season in the best possible way,” said the Inter legend in an interview with TRT Sport via FcInterNews.
“Our goal is to always give our best in every competition and make our fans happy by obtaining winning results.
“Istanbul? It’s a beautiful city. But we can’t forget last year’s Champions League final. I hope the new season will be even better.”
