Danijel Arnautovic, the brother and agent of Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic, reveals how the Austrian’s transfer to Appiano Gentile took shape.

News reports had been linking the club with a host of forwards throughout the summer transfer session. But in the end, it was Arnautovic who made a sensational return to the Giuseppe Meazza 13 years following his initial stint.

The 34-year-old completed a switch from Bologna to Inter as he arrives to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s revamped attacking department.

His brother and agent Danijel announces himself as the mastermind behind the transfer while revealing that his sibling had offers from Saudi Arabia in the past.

“It’s true, some Saudi Arabian clubs spoke to Marko in the past. But he had already played in China,” explained the agent in an interview with Servus TV via FcInterNews.

“Therefore, he wanted to return to Europe. That’s why he was so happy to go to Bologna.”

The Agent Of Marko Arnautovic Tells How The Summer Transfer To Inter Milan Ensued

Danijel reveals talks with AS Roma and tells how he was the one to propose the transfer to Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio.

“We had already spoken with two top Italian clubs. Inter wasn’t even on the radar at that moment and Bologna had already said no to Roma because they couldn’t find a replacement.

“At a certain point, it seemed that Marko was bound to stay. Then I heard the Nerazzurri were looking for a striker. They only had two in their squad. This is not enough for a team playing in the Champions League.

“So I texted Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio. I told him: ‘I know what you need, and I have it.’

“Ausilio didn’t answer at first, even though I’ve known him for 14 years and we’re good friends.

“But afterwards, he called me. We clarified everything and Bologna accepted the offer.”
