Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram received praise of the highest order from his international teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.

Both stars were on target on Thursday night as France maintained a perfect record in their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. The 2022 World Cup finalist beat the Republic of Ireland 2-0.

The Real Madrid midfielder broke the deadlock with a fascinating curler in the first half.

For his part, Thuram replaced the injured Olivier Giroud in the 26th minute. He pounced on a loose ball to put a powerful strike past the Irish goalkeeper in the 48th minute.

This was the 26-year-old’s first-ever international goal. He had failed to find the back of the net on his previous ten caps with Les Bleus.

After the match, Tchouameni described the new Inter striker as a top player who now features for a big club.

“I’m very happy for him,” said the Real Madrid midfielder in his post-match interview in the mixed zone via FcInterNews.
