Inter Milan forward Marko Arnautovic is looking forward to next weekend’s derby clash with AC Milan.
Speaking in a press conference while with the Austrian national team, as reported by FCInterNews, the 34-year-old gave his thoughts on the upcoming derby as well as the possibility of winning another Treble with the Nerazzurri.
This summer, Arnautovic made the return to Inter more than a decade after he had first left the club.
In his first season at Inter, the Austrian had not played a very prominent role. Rather, Arnautovic had been a young loan player during the 2009-10 campaign.
This time around, Arnautovic returns as a veteran.
The Austrian former Stoke City and West Ham United striker has come in to use his experience to reinforce the Nerazzurri in attack.
Marko Arnautovic Looking Forward To Derby Vs AC Milan
It’s been a good first month at Inter for Arnautovic.
The Austrian has yet to start for the Nerazzurri. But he has already assisted his first goal from the bench.
And soon, Arnautovic will get a taste of one of the most significant fixtures for Inter – the Milan derby.
This will not be the first time that the 34-year-old will experience the derby.
But Arnautovic heads into this Saturday with a much different perspective than he’d had last time around.
Arnautovic noted that “Hakan Calhanoglu called me not long ago.”
“The feeling anticipation is huge, every one of us is extremely motivated,” he said of the derby.
“Obviously we want to win the match.”
Of the possibility of Inter winning the Treble when he was last at the club in 2009-10, Arnautovic said that “Obviously I’d be very happy if we could repeat that.”
“We’ll see what happens.”
“Of course I can’t predict what will happen this season,” he added.
“But Inter’s goal is obviously to win titles every season. I think we have a very good, young team. We are ready for anything.”
