Inter Milan star Federico Dimarco feels he has earned the right to play at the club. He is greatly proud to don the famous black and blue jersey.

The 25-year-old is a youth product of the club and a childhood Nerazzurri supporter. He used to attend Inter’s matches at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium along with his uncle.

Nevertheless, the wingback had to earn his spot in the team the hard way. As a young player, he embarked on a series of loan stints with various clubs, including the likes of Sion, Parma and Hellas Verona.

In 2021, Simone Inzaghi decided to maintain Dimarco’s services following his appointment at Inter Milan.

Since then, the Italian gradually cemented himself as a stalwart on the left flank. He’s now the first option for both club and country.

Dimarco feels that he earned the right to represent the Nerazzurri while reflecting on Italy’s last two encounters.

“After a disappointing draw with North Macedonia we returned to win against Ukraine,” said the 25-year-old as reported by Tuttomercatoweb via FcInterNews.

“The fact that I was born with the Inter shirt had a positive effect on my career. However, I earned the right play for the club with consistent performances.

“Looking back on my past, I’m now truly proud to wear this shirt.”

Finally, Dimarco reserved his last words for Saturday’s greatly anticipated Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.

“We all know the significance of the Derby. It will be a good match and may the best team win.”
