Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that striker Marcus Thuram needs to not let the momentum up after his blazing start top the season.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri beat AC Milan 5-1 in the derby, via FCInterNews, the coach gave his thoughts on the striker who joined the club over the summer.

Thuram is a player who’s really hit the ground running in an Inter shirt.

Not that many of the players who signed during the summer have gone straight into the starting eleven. But with three out of the four forwards who had been at the club last season leaving during the summer, Inzaghi has had little choice but to put his faith in a new arrival.

And Thuram has rewarded that trust from the coach.

Prior to the international break, the Frenchman had notched a goal and an assist to help Inter to a perfect start.

And moreover, these had only been the tip of the iceberg for broadly excellent performances from Thuram.

Then, this evening, Thuram got his most important goal yet for Inter. In his very first Milan derby, the 26-year-old got on the scoresheet.

And it wasn’t just any goal from Thuram. The Nerazzurri striker scored with a rocket from distance, giving Rossoneri keeper and his international teammate Mike Maignan no chance whatsoever of saving his effort.

Simone Inzaghi: Now Marcus Thuram Needs To Keep Going

Inzaghi said of Thuram’s strike, Inter’s second goal of the match, “It was a beautiful goal. ”

“They were all good goals, and Marcus’s goal came at a time when we needed it.”

“Now he has to keep going like this,” he added.

“All the guys did well, They stayed switched-on. Now they have to keep going.”

And of the win over Milan, Inzaghi said that “We wanted a derby like this for the entire Inter family.”

“We believed in it, and the guys did everything in the best way.”

“The guys did very well, particularly the substitutes. After we conceded for 2-1, they gave us a massive hand.”

“They all showed great spirit, we have to keep going like this.”
