Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali reveals that Juventus and Napoli had also tried to sign Davide Frattesi who ended up joining Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old is yet to start a match for the Nerazzurri, but has been an impactful substitute.

In last weekend’s Derby della Madonnina, the Italian entered the pitch in the second half to score the fifth goal, rounding off Inter’s goal carnival.

Frattesi also proved to be a super-sub on Wednesday’s Champions League encounter, providing Lautaro Martinez with a sublime assist for the late equalizer against Real Sociedad.

But while the Italy international joined Inter for 33 million euros, he also had other glamorous suitors.

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali Reveals Juventus And Napoli Interest In Inter Milan Summer Signing Davide Frattesi

Sassuolo CEO Carnevali reveals that Juventus was the first club to knock on the door asking for Frattesi. Scudetto winners Napoli also tried their luck.

But eventually, the midfielder made up his mind, choosing to join Simone Inzaghi’s ranks.

“Frattesi had the ambition to play for a top club but he didn’t express any preferences at first,” explains the Neroverdi CEO in his interview with Tuttosport via FcInterNews.

“Juventus were one of the first clubs to show interest in the player. But perhaps they changed their strategy or opted for other choices, so they didn’t make a concrete move.

“There were other clubs, including Napoli who also tried their luck. But Frattesi eventually made the choice of joining Inter.”

The midfielder could finally make his full debut this weekend. The Nerazzurri travel to Tuscany for a meeting against Empoli, and he could well be in Inzaghi’s starting formation.
