The Nerazzurri had to settle for a point in their group stage opener.
But it could’ve been worse. Inter started the match off very poorly, conceding early. And in truth, another La Real goal always looked likelier than an equalizer.
But Inter stayed in it. And in the closing stages of the match, the Nerazzurri finally found their rhythm and broke through.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez reacted to the match on Instagram.
He wrote, “We know that we didn’t play at our level in this match, but the important thing is that we didn’t lose. Now we need to recover and work hard to keep improving, individually and as a team.”
