Inter Milan and Napoli are reportedly monitoring Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson, eying a future move for the player.

The Icelandic winger joined the Grifone in January 2022 after spending almost nine years in the Netherlands, representing Heerenveen, PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar.

After suffering relegation to Serie B shortly following his arrival at the Port City, he helped the Ligurian club return to the top flight at the first time of asking.

The 26-year-old is a versatile player who can play on both wings or even as a second striker. He’s currently featuring alongside Mateo Retegui in Alberto Gilardino’s 4-4-2 formation.

Gudmundsson managed to catch the eye of some of the biggest Serie A clubs in the early stages of the season, especially for his dribbling prowess. He’s currently the player who made the most dribbles in Serie A thus far in the campaign.

According to Sport Mediaset via Calciomercato, Inter and Napoli are both keeping tabs on the Iceland international.

The source adds that the Partenopei have already tried to sign the player on several occasions in the summer.

However, Genoa rejected all offers, insisting on maintaining the services of their star winger.

Gudmundsson has been a protagonist for Iceland’s senior squad since making his debut in January 2017. He has 35 caps to his name, scoring six international goals in the process.
