Striker Marko Arnautovic is thankful for the support he’s gotten from his Inter Milan teammates and fans after suffering a serious thigh injury.

The 34-year-old took to Instagram to express his gratitude for all the messages he’s received wishing him well, and promising that he’ldd try and be back on the pitch soon.

Arnautovic picked up a thigh injury during yesterday afternoon’s Serie A match against Empoli.

The Austrian came on during the second half of the match as a substitute. However, he did not even last twenty minutes, as he suffered a strain in his left thigh.

It was obvious from the way that Arnautovic pulled up in discomfort that something was wrong for the striker.

And medical tests today confirmed the exact nature of the problem. The former Bologna, West Ham United, and Stoke City striker had suffered a strain to the biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh.

It’s not quite certain how long Arnautovic’s recovery will take.

But there’s not doubt that it will not be a quick process.

The Austrian could be out for weeks, or even several months. Reportedly, the Serie A match against Juventus at the end of November could be the date for Arnautovic to circle on his calendar as far as a return to action.

Marko Arnautovic Thanks Inter Teammates & Fans For Support

One thing that’s for sure is that Arnautovic will need support during his recovery.

The Nerazzurri’s official fitness update for the 34-year-old describe the injury that he’s suffered as a “medium-grade” strain.

However, Arnautovic will do what he can to get past the problem. Then he can once again be available for selection as he aims to help Inter to fight for trophies.

The Austrian showed early signs of what he can do in his first few appearances of the season.

Arnautovic bagged his first ever assist for the Nerazzurri in  the team’s opening day win over Monza.

The striker wrote on his Instagram account, “Thanks everyone, teammates and fans, for all the love you’ve given me. I’ll be back soon! Sempre Forza Inter!”
