Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni and defender Henrikh Mkhitaryan could get a rest against Sassuolo in tomorrow’s Serie A clash.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908. The broadcaster also anticipate that Nicolo Barella will be back in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven.

So far this season, four Inter players have started every single one of the team’s matches across all competitions.

Goalkeeper Yann Sommer has been one of them. And in terms of outfield players, all of Bastoni, Mkhitaryan, and captain Lautaro Martinez have started in all six of Inter’s matches.

However, Sky report, that will change soon.

For tomorrow evening’s match against Sassuolo at the San Siro, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is planning some changes.

Inter Duo Bastoni & Mkhitaryan To Be Rested Vs Sassuolo

In defender, Sky expects that Bastoni will drop out of the lineup.

Instead of the 24-year-old, Francesco Acerbi will start the match on the left of Inter’s back three. This will mean that there’s a place in the starting eleven for Stefan de Vrij in the centre of defense.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard looks set to keep his place on the right of defense. Sky report that the Frenchman is favoured over Matteo Darmian to start.

And in midfield, there will also be a change.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi will both maintain their places from Inter’s Serie A win over Empoli.

However, Mkhitaryan will not be the player to start alongside them. Rather, Barella will be the third man in the trio.

The 26-year-old former Cagliari midfielder had not started against Empoli, although he came off the bench.

But against the Neroverdi, Barella will regain his place.

This will put to the test the question of whether or not Frattesi and Barella are compatible in the same starting eleven, considering the pair’s relatively similar profiles and the fact that Mkhitaryan has tended to have a balancing influence in Inter’s midfield trio.
