Italian internationals Nicolo Barella and Davide Frattesi will both start in midfield for Inter Milan against Sassuolo this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also anticipate that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will drop to the bench for a rest in the Serie A clash.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have to name his second starting eleven in just a couple days this evening.

Therefore, the coach will have to consider the balance between putting out a strong enough team to get a result against Sassuolo and not overusing key starters given the limited amount of time in which the team has had to rest and recover from Sunday’s trip to Empoli.

In midfield, the Corriere report that midfielder Mkhitaryan will get a rest.

The Armenian has started every single one of Inter’s matches so far this season.

But former Arsenal and Roma man Mkhitaryan will get a chance to catch his breath against the Neroverdi.

This will mean that two Italians will form the midfield trio for Inter alongside Hakan Calhanoglu.

Barella & Frattesi To Both Start For Inter Milan Vs Sassuolo

For starters, 26-year-old former Cagliari midfielder Barella will be back in the starting eleven.

Barella was not in the starting lineup against Empoli over the weekend. He did, however, come off the bench during the second half of that match.

The 26-year-old will regain his place this evening, having started every one of Inter’s matches prior to Sunday.

And Frattesi will keep his place in the eleven.

The 24-year-old made his first ever start in an Inter shirt on Sunday. And he will keep his place against his former team Sassuolo.

Meanwhile, the Corriere report that Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will start in attack.

The pair have started in every single one of Inter’s Serie A matches to date. An injury to Marko Arnautovic means that the Austrian is not an option, whilst Alexis Sanchez will remain on the bench.
