Inter Milan veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan has his sights set on a contract renewal despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.

The 34-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in 2022 following a spell at AS Roma. He rapidly established himself as a protagonist at the club and a favorite at Simone Inzaghi’s court.

The Armenian has started every single match for the club since the start of the season, making six Serie A appearances and one in the Champions League.

According to FcInterNews, a Saudi Pro League club has contacted the midfielder’s agent Rafaela Pimenta, offering a two-year contract that would double the player’s wages.

Mkhitaryan currently earns 3 million euros. His contract with the Beneamata only runs until the end of the season.

Nevertheless, the former Manchester United and Arsenal man would like to remain in Europe, particularly at Inter. The Armenian feels important at the club and is enjoying his football under the guidance of Inzaghi.

Therefore, the player’s entourage will have to sit at the table with the Nerazzurri officials to find an agreement that extends the player’s stay at Appiano Gentile.

However, the source reveals that Mkhitaryan’s contract isn’t currently a priority for the management.

At the moment, the hierarchy is working on renewing the deals of Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco. Afterwards, the directors will turn their focus on the veteran.

The report expects the club to offer Mkhitaryan a one-year contract with an option for a second. However, the midfielder would prefer a guaranteed two-year deal.

Nevertheless, the source believes the two parties should be able to reach an accord rather swiftly.
