Former Inter Milan and Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has enjoyed his third best start to a season with five goals in seven for Roma.

The Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Belgian’s strong start to life in the Italian capital relative to his career – this is the third-best start to a campaign that he has enjoyed.

Whilst Lukaku has had good and bad periods of form, he has generally been prolific wherever he goes.

The 30-year-old’s two spells with Chelsea are the exception to this rule.

Playing for the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Manchester United, and Inter, Lukaku has generally been the man who his team turns to for goals.

And he is already proving that he can do the same for the Giallorossi following his controversial summer move.

Lukaku has found the back of the net five times so far in a Roma shirt. And he has taken just seven matches to do so.

This already means that the Belgian leads the way for scoring among the Giallorossi squad.

Lukaku Gets Close To Man United & Inter Form For Roma

Five goals is the third most that Lukaku has scored in the first seven matches of a season.

His second-most prolific start to a campaign came at Manchester United.

The Belgian made the move to Old Trafford from Everton in the summer of 2017. And in his first seven matches for the Red Devils, Lukaku scored a total of six goals.

But Lukaku’s best-ever start to a season came at Inter.

It was not the Belgian’s first season as a Nerazzurri player, but rather his second in which he enjoyed such a blazing start.

Between Serie A and the Champions Legaue, Lukaku scored seven goals from seven matches to begin the 2020-21 season.

That was the campaign in which the Nerazzurri won the Serie A title under Antonio Conte.

Lukaku’s goals were crucial for Inter that season. He led the Nerazzurri for both goals and assists.

Lukaku was named as the player of the season in Serie A in that season.

And it is looking as though the Belgian could have a similar impact in a Roma shirt as well.
