Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco feels that Theo Hernandez, Alphonso Davies, and Nuno Mendes are among the best player in his position.

Speaking to Azzurri Live, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old praised the AC Milan, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain stars in his considerations about the wingback role in the modern game.

Dimarco has emerged as a key player for Inter over the past couple seasons.

The 25-year-old has been a consistent outlet for the team down the left flank. His range of passing and understanding of the wingback role have made him an important part of the team’s buildup phase.

And Dimarco has also provided Inter with a steady source of assists with his deliveries into the box.

The Italian international has also shown a real eye for goal.

His long-range screamer against Empoli earlier this season was a perfect example of this. But that was far from the only important goal that Dimarco has scored for Inter.

Dimarco earned a spot in last season’s UEFA team of the season for the Champions League with his performances in that competition.

Dimarco Praises Theo Hernandez, Alphonso Davies, Nuno Mendes

Dimarco’s performances have been, among other things, a reflection of just how important the fullback and wingback positions have become in modern football.

The Inter man said that “It’s become a more fun position to play than before.”

“Sometimes you find yourself more in the middle of the pitch.”

“And there are more goals and assists, which is of course always good,” he said.

As far as the best players in his position right now, Dimarco had a derby rival from AC Milan in mind. Alongside Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain players.

“I’d put Theo Hernandez, Alphonso Davies, and Nuno Mendes up there.”

And then for the toughest opponent he’s faced, Dimarco named another current PSG player.

“I’ll say Ousmane Demebele, when he was at Barcelona,” the Inter wingback said.
