The agent of Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has high hopes when it comes to reaching an agreement with the club over a contract renewal.

The 26-year-old has been part of the club’s roster since 2018. He gradually established himself as the main talisman at Appiano Gentile.

Following the departure of Samir Handanovic and other senior members of the squad over the summer, the Argentine inherited the captain’s armband.

The captaincy appears to suit him well as he’s taking his game up a notch. He currently leads the Serie A Capocannoniere race with ten strikes to his name after the first eight rounds of the season.

Although the player has a contract running until 2026, he and the club are working on pushing back the deadline.

Therefore, Lautaro’s agent Alejandro Camino appears optimistic about reaching a full agreement over an extension.

“Will we find an agreement with Inter without problems? I certainly hope so,” said the representative in a quick interview with Sportitalia via FcInterNews.

“We have great hopes and expectations in finding an agreement with Inter. This would allow Lautaro to be happy.”
