Inter Milan veteran Marko Arnautovic could reportedly make a return from injury ahead of schedule.
The Austrian made his return to the club 13 years following his initial spell at Appiano Gentile.
He has thus far made five Serie A appearances off the bench and one Champions League start. While he’s yet to score a goal, he provided an assist on the opening matchday of the season against Monza.
Last month, the 34-year-old sustained a muscular injury during his side’s away win over Empoli.
Initial reports expected the former West Ham and Stoke City striker to miss a couple of months of action.
But according to Sky Sport via FcInterNews, Arnautovic is making significant progress on his healing path.
Therefore, the club’s medical staff is now optimistic about the player’s condition. The Austrian could make his return from injury earlier than initially expected.
Inter Milan Striker Marko Arnautovic Could Return To Action Ahead Of Schedule
The source claims Simone Inzaghi could have the bomber back at his disposal for the Champions League away fixture against his compatriots RB Salzburg on November 8th.
The Nerazzurri will host the Austrian champions on October 24th at the Giuseppe Meazza on the third matchday of the UCL group stage before returning the visit a couple of weeks later.
But while the return of Arnautovic would be an important boost for the frontline, the striker will certainly miss some crucial showdowns in Serie A.
The Beneamata will travel to Turin after the international break for a battle against Torino.
Inter will then host Romelu Lukaku and AS Roma in a widely-anticipated clash on October 29th. They will also play Atalanta away from home on November 4th.
