Inter Milan are weighing up a move for Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer next summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

Inter are currently considering the medium- and long-term future of their attack.

Both of Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic joined the club during the summer.

However, given that both of the pair are currently 34 years of age and joined on short-term deals, there are big question marks around when the Nerazzurri will have to bring in a new forward signing.

Next summer there is already every chance that a new forward will need to come in.

Sanchez, in particular, only signed a one-year contract when he joined on a free transfer.

Therefore, should the Nerazzurri not extend the Chilean’s deal then he will be on his way at the end of the current season.

As such, Inter are starting to think about possible replacements for Sanchez.

And considering that the former Arsenal and Barcelona man would leave for nothing, it is not as though there would be a transfer fee to reinvest. Inter could therefore go in search of a free transfer opportunity, or low-cost signing to replace him.

Inter Weighing Up Move For Leicester City Striker Kelechi Ihenacho

One player who could be available on a free transfer next summer if 27-year-old former Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheancho.

The Nigerian international joined Leicester in the summer of 2017 from Man City.

And Iheanacho has remained with the Foxes since then. He is now in his seventh season at the King Power.

Iheanacho has made a total of 219 appearances for Leicester to date.

And the Nigerian stayed at Leicester over the summer despite the fact that the Foxes were relegated to the Championship.

The 27-year-old has been a regular appearance-maker in the English second division over the start of the season. Leicester currently top the Championship table.

However, Iheanacho’s current contract with Leicester only runs until the end of next June.

Therefore, there is every chance that the Nigerian could leave on a free transfer.

Therefore, FCIN report, Iheanacho is one of the players who Inter are keeping track of as a possible attacking signing.

However, the Nigerian has not fully convinced the Nerazzurri. They are still in the process of scouting him.
