The 26-year-old started in Italy’s routing 4-0 over Malta at the San Nicola Stadium in Bari. He remained on the pitch for 65 minutes.

The former Cagliari man then played the entire match at Wembley. The Azzurri suffered a 1-3 defeat at the hands of England in the Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday. Barella didn’t perform at his best during the match.
