Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has resumed training with his teammates at Appiano Gentile along with Carlos Augusto.

The South American duo has returned from international duty and immediately rejoined Simone Inzaghi’s ranks, reports Sky Sport via TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Nerazzurri are currently preparing for the weekend clash against Torino.

The Granata will host Inter at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Saturday. The kickoff will be at 18:00 CET.

Therefore, the return of the two internationals to group training is fundamental for the team’s preparations, especially Lautaro who will likely start the match.

The 26-year-old started in Argentina’s 1-0 win over Paraguay last week. However, he only had a brief cameo against Peru on Wednesday morning.

The striker has been in exceptional form since the start of the season, scoring 11 goals across all competitions. Therefore, Inzaghi will be looking to rely on his services on Saturday despite enduring a long trip on the way back from South America.

On another note, Alexis Sanchez had an even longer flight, thus, he missed today’s training session. Nevertheless, the Chile star will join his Inter teammates in training on Friday.

The 34-year-old played two entire matches for the Chilean national team which could take its toll on his physical condition.

The Nerazzurri will have one last training session in the morning to prepare for the weekend contest. Afterwards, they will take the trip to Turin.
