Inter Milan goalkeeper Emil Audero reveals his best three characteristics while discussing several other matters.

The Nerazzurri revamped the whole goalkeeping department over the summer. While Yann Sommer arrived to serve as the club’s Number One, the management signed Audero as his understudy.

The 26-year-old completed a loan move with an option to buy from Sampdoria who suffered relegation to Serie B last term.

The Italo-Indonesian said he started playing football at the tender age of five. But initially, he wasn’t planning on becoming a goalkeeper.

“I started when I was five. At first I did a bit of swimming but football has always been my main sport,” proclaimed Audero in his interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews.

“The encouragement came from my mother after yet another broken vase at home. She thought it would be better for me to play outside.

“I started as an outfielder, as is often the case. Then, little by little. I started to try out the goalkeeper role because my local team was missing one. I did well and remained in this position.”

The Juventus youth product talks about the thoughts that go through a custodian’s head while preparing to save a penalty kick.

“There are so many emotions at that moment. It’s a really short instant unless VAR intervenes.

“You always hope to pull off a save in a complicated situation and rejoice immediately afterwards.”

Inter Goalkeeper Emil Audero Argues Determination Is More Significant Than Talent In Football

Audero also spoke about his three best attributes while explaining why determination counts more than talent in football.

“My best characteristics? A Good read of the game, dominance of the penalty and elasticity.”

“Talent and determination must go hand in hand, but perhaps in the long run determination prevails.

“If you have the talent but not the determination, you won’t fulfill your promise. But if you have the talent but are also determined, you can exceed your potential.”
