Finnish tycoon Thomas Zilliacus is trying to bring in Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani on board in his attempts to buy Inter Milan.

The billionaire from Finland has been reiterating his desire to acquire the club from Suning over the last few months.

In an exclusive interview with SempreInter, he praised the Nerazzurri’s Chinese owners for their “amazing” job at the club. However, he insisted that he’s still interested in buying Inter despite Suning’s initial rejection.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Zilliacus has revealed his plans to invest one billion euros in Inter along with his partners.

As the source tells it, the Finnish is working on convincing Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani to join forces with him.

The Qatari politician is the president of the Qatar Islamic Bank. He’s also the nephew of the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, owner of Paris Saint-Germain. Moreover, he’s the son of the former prime minister.

Al Thani has been working on buying Manchester United. However, his attempts have been fruitless thus far. The Roman newspaper claims that he has now ended negotiations with the owners of the Premier League giants.

Therefore, Zilliacus is looking to seize the opportunity and convince the Qatari tycoon to switch his attention from the English shores to the Italian Peninsula.

In the meantime, Inter president Steven Zhang is still looking to remain at the club’s helm. He’s currently seeking help from Goldman Sachs as he plans to refinance the Oaktree loan.
