Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard feels that the Nerazzurri have done well to recover from some dropped points in Serie A.

The Frenchman spoke to InterTV ahead of this evening’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg, via FCInterNews. He also gave his thoughts on this evening’s group stage match.

Inter had started the season with a lot of momentum.

Five wins in a row saw the Nerazzurri begin the campaign as the outstanding team in Serie A.

But then came the first real stumble of the campaign, a loss at home against Sassuolo.

Then, it was another Emilian team that dealt inter a further blow in the league at the San Siro. Like Sassuolo, Bologna had to come back from a first-half Inter lead.

And whilst the Rossoblu did not manage to win as the Neroverdi, they overturned a 2-0 deficit to take a point.

For Inter, these two results were a bitter pill to swallow.

The Nerazzurri fell behind city rivals AC Milan in the table. This after they had beaten the Rossoneri 5-1 in the derby last month.

Therefore, Inter were in desperate need of a boost to regain their momentum after the break.

Benjamin Pavard: Inter Regain Momentum After Dropping Important Points

A boost is exactly what Inter go in their first match back from the break.

The Nerazzurri beat Torino 3-0 away over the weekend.

That was enough to see Inter regain their lead over Milan in the table, albeit only an extremely slender one.

Now, Inter will be hoping to continue that momentum against Salzburg in the Champions League.

Right now, the Nerazzurri are on four points after two matches in their group. They drew 1-1 against Real Sociedad in their opener, before beating Benfica 1-0 in the second match.

“I’m expecting a complicated match,” Pavard said of this evening.

“But we’re surrounded by this incredible atmosphere. So we have to do everything we can to be able to celebrate at the end of the evening.”

Pavard noted that “We dropped some important points. But now we’ve recovered.”

“Today it’s essential to win,” he added.

As for how he’s doing at Inter, Pavard said that “I’m getting along very well. I get along well with everyone here at the Nerazzurri.”

“I want to give everything for this shirt,” he added.
