Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is happy with this evening’s Champions League win over Benfica, and looking forward to facing Roma in Serie A over the weekend.
The 24-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after beating Salzburg at the San Siro.
Inter have now made it two wins from two across two different competitions after returning from the international break.
First the Nerazzurri got their Serie A title charge back on track with a 3-0 victory over Torino.
And now, Inter have given themselves some breathing room in their Champions League group. They are now on seven points in their group after wins over Benfica and Salzburg.
That is certainly not to say that the job is complete in the group..
The Nerazzurri will need at least one or two more wins if they’re to ensure that they reach the knockout rounds of Europe’s top club competition for the third season in a row.
But it feels like there’s a real foothold now. And for his part, Frattesi is happy with the sense of calm that this gives to the team.

“This win is worth a lot because then we will have two tricky away matches up next, and we’ll be able to face them calmly,” Frattesi said after the match.
“We’re top of the group and now we have to keep going like this,” he went on.
“Calhanoglu did well taking his penalty. We’re happy to win and now we have a little more piece of mind.”
He also looked ahead to the Nerazzurri’s Serie A match next weekend.
“Everyone would like to play against Roma now,” he noted.
“It’s one of the most eagerly awaited matches of the year,” Frattesi said of the clash with the Giallorossi.
“It will be beautiful, the stadium will be incredible.”
“It will be important to bring home the best result possible,” he went on.
“Whoever plays, it won’t be a problem. We have objectives that are too important for us to be selfish.”
