Former Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Orlando is “certain” that Inter Milan will win the Serie A title race this season.
Orlando spoke to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, giving his thoughts on the Scudetto race. He also gave his thoughts on whether or not Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez could win the Ballon D’Or this year.
This weekend saw things tighten up even more than they already had been at the top end of the Serie A table.
Juventus drew to within a point of AC Milan with their win over the Rossoneri.
And Inter’s win over Torino mean that they went two points ahead of the Bianconeri and one ahead of their city rivals.
That means that there is still only one result separating any of the teams in the top three positions of the table in the Italian top flight.
Inter and Milan have already met in the derby. And Juventus beat the Rossoneri this weekend. Next month, it will be the turn of the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri to face off.
Inter’s advantage could not be any more slender in the top position as things stand.

Orlando gave his reaction to the wins from Juventus over the likes of Torino and Milan.
“I have to give an apology to Allegri,” he said.
“It’s only right to congratulate him, before the derby they were doing badly. But now they’ve brought home six massive points to get themselves back on top after they’d looked to be in a bad way.”
“But I still think that based on this weekend, Inter remain the strongest team in the league. I’m certain that they’ll win the title.”
Orlando also gave his thoughts on Inter captain Martinez.
He called the Argentine a “Formidable player. This year he’s reached maturity.”
“But he didn’t have a leading role in winning the World Cup, and he didn’t win the Champions League,” he added.
“However, if he does this season, he could be one of the candidates.”
“His numbers are crazy now,” Orlando noted of the Inter captain. “But he has a strong competition”.
