Inter Milan ultras group the Curva Nord will distribute whistles for tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Roma despite the ban.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster report that the Nord will distribute the whistles outside the stadium, whilst fans who use them could face a fine.
Inter ultras group the Curva Nord have been planning for weeks to distribute as many as 50,000 whistles for tomorrow’s match.
The purpose is to use them whistles against Roma striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 30-year-old angered the Nerazzurri fanbase during a high-profile summer transfer saga.
The majority of Inter fans felt that Lukaku’s secret negotiations with Juventus and AC Milan were a betrayal.
And particularly the most hardcore of the Nerazzurri supporters were always ready to voice their disapproval.
Curva Nord To Distribute Whistles For Roma Clash Despite Ban
Yeterday, the authorities made the decision that they would ban the whistles for tomorrow’s match.
The decision was that the whistling would be disruptive.
Therefore, the authorities will take steps to try and prevent the whistles from entering the stadium, or being used when Lukaku is on the ball.
However, Mediaset reports, that doesn’t mean that the Nord won’t still attempt to give fans in the stadium a chance to whistle the Giallorossi and former Inter striker.
According to the broadcaster, members of the Nord ultras group will distribute the whistles outside the stadium.
There could well be more stringent security measures than usual to attempt to prevent the whistles from getting inside the stadium.
However, given the size of the whistles, it is not likely that the authorities will be able to prevent all of them from entering.
However, Mediaset report, fans proven to use the whistles during the match will face a fine.
The broadcaster reports that the fine will be €22.
