Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is not paying much attention to speculation about Juventus being favourites for the Serie A title.

The coach spoke in a press conference after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Roma earlier this evening, as reported by FCInterNews.

The Serie A title race now looks to really be heating up.

Inter made a big statement about their Scudetto credentials with their win over Roma this weekend. That result ensured that the Nerazzurri will be top of the table for another week.

But Juventus are now close on Inter’s heels.

The Bianconeri left it late to beat Hellas Verona yesterday evening. But their 1-0 victory, like Inter’s over Roma, was enough to keep pace at the top end of the table.

At the moment, Juventus are two points back from Inter.

And moreover, some have noted the absence of European football as a possible advantage for the Bianconeri.

But for his part, Inzaghi is hardly listening to this kind of talk.

Inter Coach Inzaghi Brushes Aside Juventus Title Favourite Talk

In response to the assertion by Milan coach Stefano Pioli that Juventus are the favourites for the Serie A title due to not having European football, Inzaghi has little interest.

“I say that I’ll let you make these predictions, since you can apparently make them better,” the Inter coach said.

“I want the guys to play a lot of matches, because we have a lot of important goals,” he went on.

“We know what the league means for the club,” Inzaghi said.

“Then we have responsibilities in the Champions League, and in the cup competitions,” the coach said.

“We promise maximum effort. Time will tell where we end up.”

And as far as Inter’s finishing against Roma, Inzaghi said that “I have to look back at the match, but we hit the crossbar and we could have scored three goals in the first few minutes.”

“We created a lot of chances,” he went on.

“Obviously we’d like to make the best of all our chances,” Inzaghi said. “But we were up against a top-class opponent. I have nothing to say to the guys.”
