The condition of Inter Milan wingback Juan Cuadrado is improving as he aims to recover from some problems in his calf tendons.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster reports that the 35-year-old will not be part of the squad to face Atalanta on Saturday, but that a return may not be far away.
Cuadrado’s injury problems this season have been pesky and persistent.
The issue for the Colombia is not a serious injury.
Rather, Cuadrado has been dealing with tendinitis in his calf.
Therefore, there has been some uncertainty about when exactly the wingback can return to the pitch.
Cuadrado did play for around thirty minutes off the bench against Bologna. That was before the October international break.
But the former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina veteran has not played or been a part of a matchday squad since the break.
Condition Of Inter Wingback Juan Cuadrado Improving
The big issue more than anything else has just been that uncertainty.
There has not exactly been a timeline for Cuadrado to make his return.
After all, it is not as though the 35-year-old is carrying a serious injury.
But at the same time, the Nerazzurri’s medical staff have determined that Cuadrado is not fit to play, or to train fully.
There are questions surrounding the Colombian’s match fitness.
Moreover, it is not as though Inter would want to see Cuadrado return to the pitch prematurely and then end up worsening his injury into something that is more of a serious problem.
But according to Sky, there are real signs of improvement.
That does not necessarily mean a clear timeline for improvement.
Cuadrado won’t be in the squad against Atalanta over the weekend.
However, he could well be back against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League, or Frosinone in Serie A.
