Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic is aiming to return from injury away to Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster anticipate that the Austrian could make a return to group training as early as tomorrow.

There now looks to be light at the end of the tunnel for Marko Arnautovic.

The 34-year-old has been working for more than a month to get past the strain that he picked up in September.

Arnautovic had to come off the pitch with the thigh strain during Inter’s Serie A win away to Empoli.

And it always looked like November would be the month for Arnautovic to get back on the pitch.

However, it has not been entirely certain when the 34-year-old would be able to be back.

Marko Arnautovic Aiming To Be Back To Face Salzburg In Champions League

There had been some optimistic projections that Arnautovic could be back in time for this Saturday’s Serie A match against Atalanta.

But that is out of the question.

The former West Ham United, Stoke City, and Bologna striker has not yet made a return to training.

Therefore, it is not as though Arnautovic will be ready to be in the squad for this weekend.

However, Sky reports, there is plenty of reason for optimism about the Champions League for Arnautovic.

Inter travel to Austria to take on Austrian champions in their second of two group stage matches.

And according to Sky, Arnautovic is on track to be fit to be part of the squad for the trip to his home country.

Arnautovic will not be fully or even match fit, for obvious reasons.

Reports suggest that the 34-year-old is instead targeting a return to full fitness for the match against Juventus after the November international break.
