Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is certain Davide Frattesi will start in the Champions League against Red Bull Salzburg tomorrow, but not Denzel Dumfries.

The coach spoke in a press conference ahead of the group stage clash, as reported by FCInterNews.

Inter coach Inzaghi has just 24 hours or so to decide on his team for tomorrow’s match against Red Bull Salzburg.

It’s no secret that the Nerazzurri boss is likely to rotate his team.

The Nerazzurri are now in the midst of a very busy period of the season. They faced Atalanta on Saturday, and next weekend take on Frosinone.

Therefore, Inzaghi will certainly aim to rest at least a few players.

But at the same time, the coach will also make sure to put out a strong enough team to get the result and qualify for the knockout rounds with a match to spare.

Inter Coach Inzaghi Confirms Frattesi Starts Vs Salzburg, Dumfries A Doubt

As far as whether Frattesi could start with Nicolo Barella in midfield, Inzaghi said “Absolutely, yes.”

He noted that “They played together in the second half of the last match against Salzburg. We did better than in the first half.”

“Tomorrow we’ll see,” he went on. “Frattesi will definitely play from the start. We need to see with the other two places.”

“Asllani is growing, Mkhitaryan and Barella are doing a great job. So I have to decide.”

Inzaghi also said that “Klaasen deserves playing time because he gives me a tough decision every day in training.”

“Tomorrow I’ll have to make my decisions as well. And I’ll absolutely make them for the good of Inter.”

Inzaghi also noted that “We have a problem on the right because Cuadrado is injured.”

Dumfries didn’t recover well for training this morning,” the coach continued.

“I talked about it with the team doctor. He can certainly be part of the squad, but I don’t know if he will start the match.”

Inzaghi noted that “I have Bisseck, de Vrij. I can put Carlos Augusto in defense,” Inzaghi said.

“I have several options. We could also put Darmian in that role, let’s see what happens.”

And Inzaghi also gave his thoughts on defender Yann Bisseck, who could very well play tomorrow.

“He’s a player who’s been working excellently since the start of the season,” he said of the German.

“He’s on the rise, he’s showing me great signs both in training and in the minutes that he’s had off the bench.”
