Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck describes his Champions League debut as a dream come true.

The 22-year-old has only earned two brief cameos in Serie A since joining the club in the summer.

Nevertheless, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi thrust the German into the starting formation on Wednesday’s Champions League clash against RB Salzburg.

This was Bisseck’s full debut for the club and his first-ever appearance in Europe’s elite club competition.

The young defender replaced the injured Benjamin Pavard on the right side of the three-man defense, joining Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.

But after earning a yellow card in the first period, Inzaghi decided to replace him with the more experienced Stefan de Vrij at the interval.

Nevertheless, it was still a night to remember for the Germany U21 starlet.

Bisseck admits he felt the nerves at first. However, he fulfilled a childhood dream by playing in the Champions League.

“I was really very happy when I realized that I would start the match,” said the defender in his post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia via FcInter1908.

“I tried to do my best even if I was a little nervous because it was my first time as a starter in the Champions League and in such an important match it wasn’t easy, but I did my best.

“It’s a dream come true. As a child, I dreamed of playing in this competition and with a club like Inter.

“I’m enormously happy that Lautaro’s goal gave us the three points,” concluded the Koln youth product.
