Man City striker Julian Alvarez feels that Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is at a similar level to Cityzens superstar Erling Haaland.

The 23-year-old spoke to Argentine broadcaster ESPN, via FCInterNews, comparing his club and international teammates.

At the moment, Martinez and Haaland are two of the most prolific strikers in all of Europe.

The Inter man has scored a total of fourteen goals so far this season.

And the City striker has found the back of the net once more – the former Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund has scored fifteen times.

Alvarez has the good luck to play with both of them.

Week to week, the Argentine plays and trains alongside Haaland for Treble-winners City.

And during the international breaks, the 23-year-old goes off and works with Martinez.

The pair of strikers both won the World Cup with Argentina last winter.

Alvarez and Martinez did not start together at the tournament in Qatar. Rather, it was the City striker who took the place of the Inter captain.

However, in recent matches the two strikers have shown that they can both start at the same time for the Albiceleste.

Man City Striker Julian Alvarez Compared Lautaro Martinez & Lautaro Martinez

“Lautaro is incredible,” Alvarez said of his compatriot. “Like Haaland.”

“He’s also scored a lot of goals with Inter,” he went on.

The City striker noted that “Season on season he always keeps that level up. Last season he even reached the Champions League final.”

“I always say that playing and training with the best makes you improve,” the 23-year-old suggested.

“It makes you learn a lot of different things,” he went on.

Alvarez noted that “It’s a dream for me to play along with these players. This way, I can grow from both a footballing and from a personal point of view.”
