Inter Milan Academy Director Massimo Tarantino is a fan of what Nerazzurri Primavera coach brings to the team.

Speaking to Radio TV Serie A, via FCInterNews, Tarantino also praised Inter’s directors.

Tarantino took over as the head of Inter’s youth academy during the summer.

This came after Roberto Samaden stepped down from the role at the end of his contract, ending a decades-long tenure with the Nerazzurri.

Now, Tarantino has been the Academy Director at Inter for several months.

He has had the chance to get to know the club’s youth development setup. And he has started putting his stamp on how things are done.

One of the key figures who Tarantino works with is Chivu.

The Romanian has been the coach of Inter’s Primavera, or Under-19 side, since the summer of 2021.

Chivu brings a lot of experience playing days. The Romanian won the Treble with Inter during the 2009-10 season, having also starred for the likes of Roma and Ajax.

And the Treble-winner has had the chance to transmit some of his experience to the young players in Inter’s academy setup.

And for his part, Tarantino believes that there are couple qualities that Chivu has in particularly which have allowed him to do an exceptionally good job of getting the best out of the young talents.

Inter Academy Director Massimo Tarantino Praises Christian Chivu

Tarantino said of Chivu that “He’s a very demanding coach.”

“I don’t know what he was like as a player,” he went on. “He tries to pay attention to details, but at the same time he has great sensitivity.”

“He seems tough, but he’s tough in a positive way.”

“He’s an intelligent guy,” Tarantino said of the Inter Primavera coach.

“He’s very cultured, having had a lot of international experiences.”

“He is a good guide for the kids,” he went on. “Because he helps them grow into the world of adulthood, even by making mistakes.”

“The most important quality he has is open-mindedness,” Tarantino said of the Primavera coach.

And of working with Inter’s hierarchy, Tarantino said that “I’ve found myself working within a structure that’s functioned very effectively for many years.”

“I have the great support of Marotta,” he said of Inter’s CEO.

“He’s always been available. He’s the reference point for us in terms of our sporting project.”

“The same is true of Piero and Dario,” he said referring to Sporting Director Ausilio and Assistant Sporting Director Baccin.

“After years of knowing each other we became colleagues.”
