Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi will reportedly return to the starting line-up when Italy takes on Ukraine on Monday night.

After beating North Macedonia by five goals to two at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome, the Azzurri only need a draw to secure their spot in Euro 2024.

The defending European champions will take on Ukraine in the final qualifier that will decide which nation accompanies Group C leaders England to next summer’s tournament.

Last night, Luciano Spalletti heavily relied on the Inter Milan block, starting with four Nerazzurri stars. Nicolo Barella, Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian and Francesco Acerbi all played for the duration of the match.

On the other hand, Frattesi joined in the second half. The 24-year-old replaced Giacomo Bovaventura in the 62nd minute.

But according to Sky Sport via FcInterNews, the former Sassuolo man will earn a starting berth on Monday.

Frattesi will reportedly pip the Fiorentina veteran for a spot in the middle of the park alongside his Inter teammate Barella.

Spalletti might consider the player as his lucky charm against Ukraine. Frattesi famously bagged a personal brace in the reverse fixture at San Siro.

The midfielder boasts an impressive goal-scoring record for Italy, finding the back of the net four times in nine caps.

While the source doesn’t expect the Italian manager to make too many changes to his line-up, Darmian should make way for Giovanni Di Lorenzo who was suspended for the North Macedonia match.

The Napoli captain should regain his regular starting berth at right-back, dropping the versatile Inter defender to the bench.

The former Man United man scored the first goal in the 5-2 win over North Macedonia.
