Inter Milan believe in their chances to sign Tiago Djalo as a free agent despite facing competition from Juventus.

The Portuguese is a 23-year-old defender who started his career at Sporting Lisbon. He also spent a campaign in Milan’s Primavera before making the move to Lille.

The centre-back has been with the French club since 2019 but his contract will expire at the end of the campaign.

According to SOS Fanta via FcInter1908, the centre-back has no intention of renewing his contract with the Ligue 1 side.

Therefore, Inter are looking to pounce on the situation and secure the services of the young defender on a free transfer.

However, the source believes several other clubs around Europe are keeping tabs on the promising player.

Yet, Inter remain confident in their ability to seal the deal.

The Nerazzurri have been tracking Djalo for a while now. They could have launched an onslaught to sign him in the summer, but a serious injury derailed their plans.

The Portuguese is still recovering from a cruciate ligament tear and should make his return to action at some point during the current campaign.

Inter Milan Remain Confident In Their Ability To Poach Tiago Djalo Despite Juventus Competition

The versatile defender primarily plays as a centre-back, but he can also feature as a fullback on either flank.

His ability to adapt to various playing roles could be an additional motive for the Nerazzurri to pursue his signature.

Djalo represented the Portuguese national team in almost all age groups. Although he received a call-up to the first team in the past, he’s yet to make his senior debut.
