Inter Milan and Juventus are both ready to go head-to-head for the signature of Liverpool linked Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also report that Nice want a minimum of €20 million for the 22-year-old.

Young French international Thuram has enjoyed outstanding form for Nice for several seasons now.

The 2019-20 season was the first in which Thuram started getting regular opportunities. But he was not a fixture in the starting eleven at that point.

However, after that, the young midfielder became a key player for the Ligue 1 side, even whilst still a teenager.

Thuram played an important role in Nice’s fifth-place finish under Christophe Galtier in the 2021-22 campaign.

And this season, the 22-year-old has been at the heart of Nice’s surprise title challenge under young Italian coach Francesco Farioli, formerly of Alanyaspor.

Inter & Juventus Rival Liverpool For Khephren Thuram

Not surprisingly, Thuram’s form and quality have attracted a fair bit of transfer interest.

Premier League giants Liverpool have been among the Frenchman’s suitors. Thuram was on the Reds’ radar as part of their midfield overhaul during the most recent summer transfer window.

But a move to Serie A could also be on the cards for Thuram.

The Corriere report that both of Inter and Juventus want the 22-year-old.

For the Nerazzurri, there is one possible ace in the hole.

Thuram’s older brother Marcus plays at the San Siro. The 26-year-old joined in the summer and has been in outstanding form this season.

Therefore, the striker could advise his younger sibling to make the move to Inter.

But on the other hand, Juventus have strong ties with the Thuram brothers’ father Lilian.

1998 World Cup winner Lilian Thuram enjoyed prominent spells with the Bianconeri as well as Parma.

Therefore, the appeal of Serie A in general could be strong for Khephren, and there would be a family connection to the Juventus as well as to Inter.
