Legendary Inter Milan striker Alessandro Altobelli considers the arrival of Beppe Marotta from Juventus as the big turning point for the club.

The 1982 World Cup winner experienced the Derby d’Italia from both ends.

He spent the vast majority of his playing day with the Nerazzurri before donning the Black-and-White stripes for a single campaign late in his career.

So ahead of Sunday’s big showdown, “Spillo” offers his take on his two former clubs.

The Italian legend feels that Inter should be the slight favorites despite playing away from home.

He also tips Italy internationals Federico Chiesa and Nicolo Barella to be the main difference makers.

“I think Barella and Chiesa will make the difference,” predicts Altobelli in his interview with Tuttosport via FcInterNews.

“Barella runs as much as four other players. He participates in both phases very well. He helps his teammates with his character and personality.

” Juve-Inter has now become an important match again. The Nerazzurri are more of a team, I think they are stronger than the Bianconeri but not by much.

“Perhaps Inter could be the favorites, even if they play in Turin. But I say it’s 50/50.

“Both teams know they are competitive. I don’t think it’s decisive for the Scudetto, but it’s important to send a message.”

“Lautaro and his teammates scored 29 goals, whereas the Bianconeri only netted 19.

“This is the main difference between the two sides. In football, you have to score to win. One of the two will certainly win the league.”

Alessandro Altobelli Highlights The Importance Of Beppe Marotta Switch From Juventus To Inter Milan

Altobelli considers the arrival of Inter CEO Marotta as the turning point for the club. He also praises Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

“The turning point was the arrival of Marotta. He brought tranquility, security and the ability to bring important players at a low cost”.

“Inzaghi is already an expert coach. He also achieved excellent results at Lazio.

“He has the right experience to lead Inter. He’s managing the Nerazzurri squad excellently. This is not an easy task.

“Like Allegri, Simone is among the best. He understands football, he knows how to coach and above all, he knows what he wants from the players.

“Who will decide the Derby d’Italia? If I have to mention just one name, it would be Martinez.

“From Juventus, watch out for McKennie.”
