Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has a superior head-to-head record against Juventus manager Max Allegri in Derby d’Italia fixtures.

On Sunday, the two rivals will collide for the first time this season. The Allianz Stadium contest will be a direct Scudetto showdown since the two clubs have emerged as the main candidates for the title in recent weeks.

The Nerazzurri currently lead the charts by 31 goals, but the Old Lady is only two points behind in second place.

Moreover, Inzaghi and Allegri will renew their rivalry on the sidelines.

According to Libero via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Juventus manager is ahead in the overall head-to-head record.

Allegri registered nine wins compared to Inzaghi’s six. Another two contests ended in a draw.

But as the source notes, seven of Allegri’s nine victories came while his counterpart was still at Lazio.

In 2021, Inzaghi inherited the Inter dugout following Antonio Conte’s departure. This coincided with Allegri’s return to Juventus following a two-year hiatus.

Since then, the younger Inzaghi has had the upper hand over the more experienced Allegri.

Inter Milan Manager Simone Inzaghi Has Four Derby d’Italia Victories Over Juventus Boss Max Allegri

The Nerazzurri boss prevailed on four occasions. This includes the dramatic Italian Super Cup victory in 2021/22 as well as the Coppa Italia final in the same season.

Inzaghi’s Inter also eliminated Allegri’s Juventus from the Coppa Italia last season following a semi-final doubleheader.

On the other hand, the Bianconeri manager only won twice over Inzaghi’s Inter. Juventus completed the double over the rivals in the league last season.

So all in all, Allegri is still leading in the overall stats, but Inzaghi has the superior Derby d’Italia record.
