Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich are all keen to sign young Schalke midfielder Assan Ouedraogo.’

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note that the teenager has a €12 million release clause for next summer, but would likely cost at least €20 million in January.

Young midfielder Ouedraogo has enjoyed a real breakout campaign with Schalke over the past few weeks.

Having come through the Koenigsblauen’s youth academy system, he has become a regular in the first team this season.

Ouedraogo has so far made a total of nine appearances. He has also scored his first senior goal for Schalke.

And the German youth team international has not shown any signs of a tough adaptation process.

On the contrary, Ouedraogo has looked very comfortable in senior football.

Both in terms of his physicality and his composure and tactical awareness, the teenager has been at home enough to be one of Schalke’s outstanding performers in the German second division so far.

Naturally, Ouedraogo’s performances for Schalke have attracted some transfer interest.

There are big clubs around Europe who have been monitoring the 17-year-old.

These include some of Serie A’s biggest teams.

Derby d’Italia rivals Inter and Juventus are among them. So are the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan, and reigning Italian champions Napoli.

The likes of Bayern and Leipzig are hoping to keep Ouedraogo in Germany.

According to the Gazzetta, it is true that there is a €12 million release clause in the young midfielder’s contract with Schalke.

But that will only become active towards the end of May.

On the other hand, if any club wants to sign the teenager in the January transfer window, it will likely take a bid of no less than €20 million.
