Juan Cuadrado will be in the Inter Milan squad to face Juventus this evening, whilst Alexis Sanchez has stayed behind.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

This evening, Inter take on Juventus in the first Derby d’Italia match of the Serie A season.

The Nerazzurri are travelling to Turin to face their great rivals the Bianconeri at the Allianz Stadium. The sense of anticipation is high for a match that could prove to be a title-decider.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has made his decisions regarding who will be in the squad that travels for the match.

And that means that one South American veteran will be in a matchday squad for the first time in over a month. But for another, there will be no place even on the bench.

Juan Cuadrado In Inter Squad Vs Juventus – Alexis Sanchez Out

35-year-old former Bianconeri wingback Cuadrado played no part for Inter in the period between the October and November international breaks.

The Colombian was dealing with some persistent tendon problems for a few weeks.

These fitness issues were enough to rule Cuadrado out of matchday squads for any fixtures since the 2-2 draw against Bologna before the October break.

But Cuadrado is now ready to make his return.

It is hardly likely that the Colombian will be in the starting eleven this evening.

But Cuadrado is travelling with the rest of the squad to Turin.

And it is certainly a personally significant match for the 35-year-old. Former Chelsea, Fiorentina, and Lecce veteran Cuadrado spent eight years as a Juventus player.

But Cuadrado could play on the other side of the Derby d’Italia divide from a team that until a few months ago he represented, should he make an appearance this evening.

For former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona veteran Alexis Sanchez it’s a different story, though.

The Chilean forward only returned to training from international duty on Friday.

And Sanchez was carrying a slight ankle sprain.

For this reason, the 34-year-old is not travelling with the rest of the squad for the Derby d’Italia.
