Inter Milan will aim to sell wingback Denzel Dumfries next summer if they can’t convince him to sign a contract extension past the end of June 2025.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908. The outlet reports that the Nerazzurri will not make a massive financial effort to keep hold of the Dutchman.

At the moment, Dumfries is under contract with Inter until the end of June 2025.

The 27-year-old is still on the same four-year deal that he signed when he joined from PSV.

Dumfries joined Inter in the summer of 2021. He arrived as a like-for-like replacement for Achraf Hakimi following the Moroccan’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain on a massive money deal.

Inter To Either Extend Contract Of Denzel Dumfries Or Sell Him

Inter will certainly not want to let Dumfries go into the last season of his deal before putting pen to paper on an extension.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri’s aim is to tie the Dutchman down with a new contract.

According to FCIN1908, whoever, Inter will not break the bank to keep Dumfries.

Rather, the club will make what they consider to be a reasonable offer for the 27-year-old to sign a new deal.

With that on the table, Inter will await the response of the player and his representatives.

If Dumfries is ready to accept Inter’s offer then the club will be happy to keep the wingback.

But if not, then FCIN1908 report that there would be little chance of a big increase from Inter in an effort to convince Dumfries.

Rather, the outlet anticipate, Inter would then aim to sell Dumfries next summer.

The Nerazzurri would want a fee of around €30-35 million to sell the Dutchman.

There is some interest in the 27-year-old’s signature from the Premier League. It would however remain to be seen what sort of offers would materialize.

And in terms of a replacement for Dumfries if he is to be sold, Inter have a clear idea.

FCIN1908 report that the Nerazzurri would see Club Brugge’s Tajon Buchanan as their priority target to replace the Dutchman.

The Canadian international has been on Inter’s radar for some time.
