Juventus coach Max Allegri feels that the goal Lautaro Martinez scored to equalize was the only real error his team made against Inter Milan.

The Bianconeri boss spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after the match.

Juventus got into a bit of a defensive mix-up to allow Inter captain Martinez to neutralize the advantage that Dusan Vlahovic had given them.

During a period where the Bianconeri were venturing forward and leaving some spaces at the back, Inter moved the ball from back to front quickly.

It was up to the Juventus’s defenders to cover the spaces.

But on the occasion of the goal, they were not able to do so.

First, Bremer lost his footrace with Inter striker Marcus Thuram. The Frenchman stole half a yard on the Juventus defender so he could put in a cross for Martinez.

Then, Federico Gatti lost track of the run of the Inter captain.

Martinez had plenty of space in which to poke the ball past Juventus goalkeeper Wojcjech Szczesny.

This goal was enough for a point for Inter. And it meant that the Bianconeri were not able to take all three despite having briefly led.

As Allegri points out, that defensive mistake was a very rare lapse from Juventus.

Allegri: Lautaro Martinez Equalizer Only Juventus Error Vs Inter

After the match, Allegri said that “We’re happy with the table. We’ve maintained our lead ahead of fifth place.”

He continued that “Once we were ahead we shouldn’t have conceded a goal five minutes later to a trademark Inter move.”

“Sommer got the ball out quickly. Then Kostic shouldn’t have stepped out like he did.”

“Maybe we should have given away a foul to break down the action,” the Juventus coach said.

Allegri said that “In the second half, there was a lot of respect between the two teams.”

“In the first half, the pressure wasn’t on as much,” he said.
