A report in the Italian media explains why the recent comments made by the agent of Nahitan Nandez didn’t sit well with the top brass at Inter Milan.

The Uruguayan’s representative Oscar Bentancourt claimed that he has been negotiating a transfer with Nerazzurri officials.

But prior to last night’s Champions League encounter against Benfica, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta was quick to dismiss it. He went on to label it as “fake news”.

The Cagliari stalwart has been on Inter’s radar for several years now. However, an emerging report reveals the reasons behind Marotta’s vigorous denial.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri didn’t appreciate being put under pressure by the agent.

The Inter management prefers to work quietly away from the limelight.

Moreover, this revelation hints that Juan Cuadrado’s time at the club will inevitably reach a conclusion since Nandez also plays on the right wing.

Therefore, Marotta and company felt those comments were untimely, as they’d like to keep the Colombian concentrated on the pitch rather than worried about his future.

Nandez is a 27-year Uruguayan international player who rose to prominence at Boca Juniors.

Inter Milan Didn’t Appreciate The Statements Of Nahitan Nandez Agent

Surprisingly, it was Cagliari who snatched his services in 2019. He has been a pillar in Sardinia ever since.

However, the wingback’s contract expires at the end of the season, putting Inter and other suitors on alert.

This term, Nandez has thus far contributed with a single goal and one assist in 10 Serie A appearances.

He has been nursing a hamstring injury in recent weeks but should make his return to the pitch imminently.
