Inter Milan could have reason to be confident of a response to Juventus in this evening’s Serie A match away to Napoli.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who note how the Nerazzurri have reclaimed their spot at the top of the table on three previous occasions this season.

The narrow gap at the top of the Serie A table means that things are in a lot of flux.

The scheduling of matches means that title rivals Inter and Juventus will perpetually have the chance to put pressure on one another.

And in Inter’s case, it has meant that they have a game in hand on their rivals on occasion.

This weekend, that is the case.

Juventus played two days before the Nerazzurri. They took three points away from Monza following a dramatic 2-1 victory.

Therefore, Inter are two points behind the Bianconeri as it stands.

And the fact of having a game in hand looks like both a blessing and a curse.

Inter have the chance to reassert themselves. But at the same time, they will be feeling the pressure, knowing for two days that they need a result in Napoli if they don’t want to spend this week second in the table.

Previous Pressure Matches Suggest Inter Can Respond To Juventus Vs Napoli

But as Tuttosport note, Inter have been in this position before during the season so far.

And the Nerazzurri’s response has been positive on those occasions.

First, there was a 4-0 victory away to Salerntiana to re-take top spot in the table from AC Milan in September.

And then, as Juventus have caught up to them, Inter have had to reclaim their spot from the Bianconeri on two occasions.

And that is just what Inter did both times.

First, there was a 1-0 victory over Roma at the San Siro.

And then there was another home win, this time against Frosinone before the November break.

Obviously Napoli are a tough challenge. But Inter could have what it takes to rise to it.
