Juventus coach Max Allegri feels that the Bianconeri should not fixate on the Serie A title race against Inter Milan.

Allegri spoke to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, via FCInterNews, following his team’s dramatic 2-1 win away to Monza yesterday. He emphasized that their main goal is top finish in the top four.

At this point there is little doubt about it.

Juventus and Inter are in a Serie A title race.

The Bianconeri are keeping pace with the Nerazzurri at the top. In fact, they overtake their great Derby d’Italia rivals with their victory against Monza.

That was only temporary, because if Inter are able to beat Napoli tomorrow evening it will mean that they regain their two-point buffer at the top. Meanwhile, a draw tomorrow would see the two teams level on points at the top.

However, the feeling is increasingly that the form that the Bianconeri and the Nerazzurri are showing is no accident.

Both of the two teams at the top have sustained this form since the start of the season.

Therefore, it is hardly unthinkable that the two sides will be able to push each other right until the end of the campaign.

Allegri Downplays Juventus Serie A Title Race Vs Inter

But for his part, Bianconeri coach Allegri doesn’t want this to be the focus.

Instead, the former AC Milan and Cagliari coach is still looking at the main focus as being getting back into the Champions League after the disappointment of missing out this time around.

As far as the Serie A title race, Allegri said that “We play to win matches.”

“The more we win, the better our chances of getting back into the top four,” he added.

“More than thinking about Inter, we need to concentrate on our advantage in terms of points over fifth in the table.”

“That’s the most important thing for us,” the Juventus coach said.
