Beppe Marotta expects that Inter Milan will not be making any shock moves during the January transfer window.

The Nerazzurri CEO spoke to Sky Sport Italia whilst at the Gran Gala del Calcio, via FCInterNews. Marotta explained that if there is any business next month it will likely be loans out.

The January transfer window is now just a few weeks away from opening.

For teams in Serie A, this will present the possibility to strengthen their squads, or fill holes that have become apparent over the first few months of the season.

Naturally, for Inter there has been some enticing speculation. Some major targets have been rumoured, as the Nerazzurri could aim to strengthen for the rest of their Serie A title pursuit.

These have included Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and Club Brugge’s Tajon Buchanan.

But Inter CEO Marotta is putting the brakes on rumours of this nature.

The Nerazzurri executive is keen to clarify that there will not be anything earth-shattering next month.

Marotta: Inter Won’t Make Any Shock Moves In January

“The group we have now is very well put-together,” Marotta said.

“We have top players in each position,” the executive said. “Including ones who aren’t necessarily well-known, like Carlos Augusto, who played very well yesterday in defense thanks to the intuition of Inzaghi.

“Regarding the transfer market, I would say that we have a strong group,” Marotta said.

“There are no particular holes in the squad.”

“And we have to remember that it’s not as easy to find opportunities in January as it is in the summer,” the Inter CEO noted.

“We won’t make moves that will upset the balance of the team.”

“Maybe we’ll find some loans for players,” Marotta predicted.

Then, he finished by making clear that “The players we have in the squad already are top players.”
