Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta feels that Juventus are among the Serie A title favourites, but the the Nerazzurri can certainly win it.

The executive spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, whilst at the Gran Gala del Calcio.

The Serie A title race developing between Inter and Juventus has not gotten any less tight this weekend.

Another round of fixtures has gone by in which both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri have won their matches.

First, Juventus took three points from their match away in Monza.

This win came in dramatic circumstances, with the Bianconeri both conceding and then scoring a winner in stoppage time.

That result had piled the pressure on Inter to get a win away in Napoli.

And that is exactly what the Nerazzurri got. It was certainly not easy beating the reigning Italian champions in an away stadium as difficult as the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

But Inter gave a clear statement regarding their Serie A title credentials with the victory.

Marotta On Inter Vs Juventus Serie A Title Race

“I’m convinced that Juventus are among the favourites,” Inter CEO Marotta said of the title race.

“But I would also include Milan, Napoli, and the other teams who are a few points behind in the table.”

“We’re still in a phase where it’s early and things are being defined,” the executive argued.

“And I’d say that Inter can be right there in it. We certainly have the means to do so.”

“We now we have to continue on the path we’re on, which is so far giving us great satisfaction.”

Regarding yesterday’s win, Marotta said that “Apart from the result, the way in which we won was important.”

“It shows maturity and awareness of our quality, of the path that we’re on,” he continued.

“The credit belongs to Inzaghi, who’s proving to be a great coach,” Marotta continued.

“And then to the players, who are responding to his tactical directions very well.”
