Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that his goal against AC Milan in the derby was special among all of those he’s scored.

The 26-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, recalling the noise at the San Siro after his effort went in.

Thuram has scored six goals in an Inter shirt already.

Moreover, the French international has made a habit of popping up with very important goals.

For example, Thuram scored the only goal in key wins against both Benfica and Roma.

But in terms of quality, perhaps none of the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach striker’s goals have quite rivalled that which he scored against Milan in the derby.

Moreover, that goal of course came on the biggest of stages.

The Milan derby is one of the showpiece occasions of Italian football.

And Thuram proved not to be put off by the pressure of the occasion.

Far from it, the Frenchman produced his best in front of the Inter faithful at the San Siro in a match that is always one of the most eagerly anticipated of the entire football calendar.

And the reaction, of course, was nothing short of intense.

It was certainly a key moment in Thuram winning over the Inter support to the extent that he has.

Marcus Thuram: Goal Vs AC Milan In Derby Special

As far as the goal to give him the most joy, Thuram said “The one against Milan.”

“There’s also the one that I scored for Gladbach against Borussia Dortmund. I started in midfield and then scored.”

And Thuram admits that the aspect of his goal against Milan that was most special wasn’t necessarily the goal itself.

“When I think about that goal, I don’t think about the shot itself,” the Frenchman explained.

“I think about the noise of the stadium.”

And then regarding the best assist he’s made, Thuram answered “The one that I made in the World Cup final for France.”

“It wasn’t an easy moment. But I managed it.”
