Inter Milan have reportedly found the basis of an agreement with Tiago Djalo, but they still have to overcome competition from Juventus, Atletico Madrid and PSG.

The Nerazzurri have been tracking the 23-year-old since last season. They were initially hoping to sign him as a replacement for Milan Skriniar.

However, the Lille defender sustained an ACL injury that has kept him out of action since the previous campaign.

Nevertheless, the Serie A giants remain interested in the Portuguese’s services.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter remain in pole position to sign Djalo as a free agent in the summer.

The Beneamata have reportedly found an agreement in principle with the versatile defender.

As the source tells it, the player appreciated the fact that Inter kept him on the shortlist despite his serious injury.

Moreover, the report adds that the club will maintain the services of Yann Bisseck until the end of the season, rejecting loan proposals.

This suggests that the Serie A leaders will wait until the summer to finalize a transfer for Djalo.

However, the source warns that the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid could make their moves as early as January.

As is often the case, it will be up to the player to make the final decision on his future.

Djalo rose through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon before having a brief stint at AC Milan’s Primavera.

He has been sharpening his tools at Lille since 2019, cementing himself as one of the finest young defenders in Ligue 1.
